There will be no FA Youth Cup glory for City's Academy side this season after they exited the competition in the second round with the only goal of the game at Torquay's Plainmoor tonight. Last season City put out the likes of Wigan Athletic, Stoke City and Everton - but this year after beating Dulwich Hamlet on penalties in the first round the long trip to Devon has proved fruitless and Ricky Martin's side now have just the league campaign to look forward to for the rest of the season. Carmel, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill. Carmel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Mildred Brown; and a brother, Gene Brown. Surviving are his wife, Wilma Fern Brown (nee Deisher) of O'Fallon, Ill.; a son, Dennis (Nancy) Brown of Belleville, Ill.; three daughters, Patricia (Jim) Best of Ontario, Canada, Nancy Taylor of Naples, Fla., and Tammy (Jerry) Lund of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren, Kimmy, Tiffany, Nicole, Timothy, Paul, Daniel

FC Hodnet returned to winning ways against premier division opposition on Saturday with a 2-1 win away at Telford Juniors in the Insight Ron Jones Memorial Cup first round. Hodnet got off to a sloppy start, giving the home opposition a soft goal from a free-kick with less than 20 minutes gone. This gave the home team the impetus to go forward, but Hodnet defended well and looked to play their usual game with plenty of possession.

The teenage sensation reaffirmed his position as the number one 200m sprinter in the country for his age at the UK School Games in Cardiff.

A mother-of-three who stabbed her boyfriend to death in the street has today been jailed indefinitely for public protection. Sally Wood (35) will have to serve a minimum of three-and-a-half years behind bars for the manslaughter of Stephen Matthew Vidal (41). She was convicted at a recent Leicester Crown Court trial, but cleared of murder.

Friends of a father stabbed to death in the street said that they were glad his killer was behind bars – but no sentence would ever be long enough to compensate for his loss. Stephen Matthew Vidal, 41, was knifed in the heart by his ex-girlfriend Sally Wood after they spent New Year's Day together. Yesterday Wood, (35), a mum of three, was found guilty of manslaughter by a jury at Leicester Crown Court.
